Privacy Policy
This website is operated from Switzerland and follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Below is an overview of what data is processed when you visit this site.

Hosting. This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., San Francisco, USA. When you visit the site, the server automatically processes technical access data (IP address, date and time, browser and device information, requested page) to deliver the site and keep it secure. Vercel may process this data on servers outside Switzerland and the EU, including in the USA. Data transfers rely on the safeguards Vercel provides, such as standard contractual clauses.
Images and videos. The photos and videos on this site are delivered by Cloudinary (Cloudinary Ltd. and its affiliates, Israel and USA). When a page loads, your browser connects to Cloudinary, which receives your IP address and technical browser data in order to deliver the files.
Contact form. If you use the contact form, the name, email address, project type and message you enter are transmitted to Google (Google Forms, Google Sheets or Google Apps Script, operated by Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC) and stored there, and may be forwarded to rawi@thelightup.ch by email. The data is used only to answer your request and to keep a record of enquiries. It is not shared with other third parties and is not used for advertising. Enquiries are deleted when they are no longer needed, usually within two years. Google may process the data outside Switzerland and the EU, including in the USA.
Contacting me directly. If you write to me by email or message me on WhatsApp, I receive the details you send, such as your name, email address or phone number, and use them only to reply. WhatsApp is operated by Meta; its own privacy policy applies to messages sent through it.
Cookies and local storage. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you switch the site language, your choice (English or German) is saved in your browser so that it is remembered on your next visit. It stays on your device and is not sent to me or to anyone else. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
Analytics. No analytics or advertising tools are currently used on this website. If this changes, for example by adding Google Analytics, this policy will be updated first and your consent will be requested where required.
External links. This site links to Instagram (Meta Platforms) and WhatsApp. Nothing is sent to these services until you click a link. After that, their own privacy policies apply.
Your rights. You can request information about, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time, object to processing, and request a copy of your data. Residents of the EU/EEA and the UK have these rights under the GDPR. Contact: rawi@thelightup.ch. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. In Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
